Here are a couple of product reviews we found on Amazon forA Private In Gray by Thomas Benton Reed. We're pretty proud of these.
on June 10, 2013
Thomas Benton Reed was my great-great uncle. I knew for many years that
he kept a diary during the War Between the States, but I had never seen
it. My cousin told me that it had been reprinted and was available on
Amazon. I ordered several copies for my family immediately. I was
surprised that it was a memoir as well as diary. I learned a lot about
the Patrick and Temperance Berry Scott, my great-great grandmother's
father and mother. Another Reed cousin who read the book commented,
"Well, he was a Reed through and through". I found the parts about the
war unsettling, but the memoir parts I liked. Over all, I recommend it
to anyone interested in that period.
This book was written by my great great great great great grandfather.
I have only read part of the book but it very interesting. Once again
thank you for making this book available for me to read and learn
something about a family member of long ago.
